The secret to Tai Chi success is regular practice, i.e. repetition.
Why? Because when performing Tai Chi movements we're aiming to condition our internal systems – starting with the soft tissue (including muscles, tendons, fascia...) and then moving towards more subtle systems (energetic, emotional, mental...) – and just as with meditation, this internal conditioning is achieved gradually and over and extended period of time and cannot be rushed. |
We first need to repeat each movement a number of times to establish Tai Chi principles and then we repeat many times to gain the benefits. Over time we develop increasingly levels of mental clarity and body awareness, helping us to delve deeper into the practice.
