Sessions held in central London, alongside workshops at The British Museum, outdoor classes in Regent's Park and Private Lessons in the central London area.

August & September sessions

Exploring gentle Tai Chi and Daoyin movements which improve circulation and increases energy levels while promoting calmness and relaxation. Enjoy graceful repetitive movements inspired by nature and informed by Chinese medical theory.

The movements which we’ll be exploring will be suitable for complete beginners and students are welcome to adjust them to suit their own needs and abilities.

SESSION DETAILS
  1. Daoyin & Mindfulness 2–2:45pm
    Ancient Chinese movements designed to stretch soft tissue and open joints to improve posture, breathing and circulation, with focused intent to help promote co-ordination, calmness and concentration.

  2. Tai Chi for Beginners 3–3:45pm
    Graceful, flowing movements that increase flexibility and body strength plus a host of other benefits including improved balance, release of physical and mental stress and a greater sense of inner peace, confidence and groundedness.

What is the location?

Are these sessions suitable for beginners?
Yes. We will be exploring various movements and exercises to help calm the mind and energise the body, all suitable for complete beginners.
What time should I arrive?
Aim to arrive 10 minutes before the start of the session to avoid being in a rush.

If you're quite early then feel free to take a seat in the garden and take a few moments to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Does the venue have changing rooms?
Toilets are available but we recommend you arrive with your training clothes already on under your other layers.

Do I need to bring any equipment?
No.

What should I wear?
  • Any loose, comfortable clothing that won't restrict your movement is fine, but bring several layers to avoid feeling cold during the session.
  • Any flat soled, comfortable shoes will be ok.

Should I eat beforehand?
Best not to arrive on a completely empty stomach but please avoid a heavy meal within 1 hour before the start of the session.
A light snack beforehand should be ok and remember to stay hydrated before and after the session by drinking plenty of warm water.
